The happiest and the most important period of one’s life is the school going age.        

      The children attending schools are roaming in a very pleasant and fortunate environment. they are as free as birds and not affected by the common burdens of everyday life.They fed and clothed by their parents.Everything thay need for schooling is supplied somehow or other by their elders.

         In school, they are expected to be fed with knowledge and good morals. that great burden of responsibility is shouldered by their teachers. A child admited to the kindergarten spends a school life of about seven or eight years till he or she parsses out successfully or unsuccessfuly as a child grown up in age

              those who realize the importance of school going age and turm out as educated persons full of not only knowledge but also humane qualities would be a great blessing to the whole world.

The word ‘reading’ at once reminds us of reading books.But apart from books there are so many other materials of reading.

      The current society is full of reading materials. The newspapers,jouranals,magazines,etc. are all included in the category of reading materials.They are flowing into the market daily weekly,blweekly,monthly and so on.

          Why do people readso much? people bother to read so much in order to gather knowledge,because knowledge is power.

               We all are well familiar with the old saying”Reading makes man perfect”. But what kind of reading is meant by that? Let us get an answer to that question through another proveb wich says ”The books which help you the most are those wich make you think the most.”

   The cow is a domestic animalshe is a herbivorus animal. like all the other herbivores, the cow is also having an innocent look.there are many househoulds in countryside where cows are kept to produce milk.

                    Very often these cows are kept tethered in nearby lands or harvested fields for grazing.

        Milking of cows in done twice a day.when the udder is washed well and squeezed gently a jet of milk is drawn into the vessel held below it,giving a hissing sound.

                The grateful villagers call the cow ”KIRI AMMA” and relly care about her. she is fed and bathed on time and treated as aclose friend of the family.

    In some countries where there are large meadows for the grazing of the milk cows,the milk industry is carried out on large scale. milking of cows is done by mechanical means.

             There fore we all whether young or oid are indebted to the cow for our growth and strenght.

            our schoolis nikawewa central collage. It is situated at Nikawewa village. my school is a very big and much developed. It comprises one storeyed building, a large auditorium,one well- equipped science laborary, a library and a computure unite.

                       It is a coeducationl school in  wich there are about two thousand boy and giral students. The  girals clad in white frocks wear school ties of red colour and the boys are white shirt and white and blue trausar.

          In our school, there are classes from grade one to G.C.E.advanced level.The staff consists of about sixty teachers,both male and female. the principal of our school is one ”S.B.Dissanayaka”. He is a very populor among the teachers and the students.

                         The sport skills of our school children are also maintained at a very high standard. Every year our school wins championship awards in many athietic events  in inter-school meets.

                  Our school has produced a lot of learned people like clever teachers,great writers,doctors etc.

                                  We  are very much indebted to our school and the teachers for feeding us with education and moulding our character.

           As the small hills all round the school are covered with green paddy fields and large tank and a ”NAGALA KANDA”. our school premises look like a little and beautiful island.

       The paddy cultivation in our country is done in two main seasons of the year. namely MAHA and YALA. maha the more important season commences around september and extends to february or march. During this season rain is experienced in dry zone.yala normally extends form April to August.During this season, little rain is experienced in dry zone. well-known paddy growing distericts like Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Hambanthota etc. are lying in the dry zone. Districts like Kandy and Colombo belong to the wet zone.In the days of the past, the paddy cultivation today is a much more complex process.Polonnaruwa lying in the dry zone has become one of the most important paddy producing districts in the sri lanka.

our village temple is in the herathgama. It name is ”Herathgama purana viharaya”.there is a white dagabo with a pinnacle glittering at the top. It is a large Bo-tree. numerous murals depicting buddhist episodes are painted on the walls of the shrine-room. Our temple is a toll bell. there  are two buddhist monks in our temple. our temple is so colourful and situated in poyo day.

                                 HAPPY   NEW YEAR

If Iam a bird, I will fly high up in the sky. then I can see lost of  nice rivers, mountains, nice houses and lost of nice flower too. far in the forests I will fly and I will  find tasty fruits and eat them. If I am a bird, I can make to beautiful nest. I will sing songs too. If I get some food I will share it with my friends and eat it. If I am a bird, I will live very happily.   good bay…………………!

Today I weak up eraly in the moning.I’m cleaned the house. I went to my friend house.I went to tempte. Today a meeting of my village. I watched the t.v at 11.30a.m to12.00 noon. Icame to class in the school.

My mother land is sri laknka. it is tropical country. There are four ethnic groups in sri lanka. They are sinhalese, Tamils, Burgers and muslims. The man crop in sri lanka is paddy cultivation. my country is called as the purel in Indian ocean.The anciant cities like Anuradapura, polonnaruwa and Kandy add a cultcural and historical value to my country. I’m froud to be a sri lankan.
